The construction site at Jedwabno in Poland now hosts the full complement of core equipment for R.Power Renewables' flagship battery energy storage project, the company has confirmed. In an update shared on LinkedIn, where R.Power has 21,730 followers, the company reported that 64 battery containers and 32 medium-voltage transformer stations have been deployed at the site.
Once complete, the Jedwabno facility will have a capacity of 150 MW / 300 MWh, making it the leading project in R.Power's European battery energy storage portfolio. That portfolio now totals 0.9 GW / 3 GWh of capacity in operation or under construction, with a further 0.7 GW / 2.8 GWh of commercialised, ready-to-build projects alongside it.
The company attributes the project's momentum to a commercial structure assembled ahead of the build. Jedwabno has secured a 17-year capacity market contract, entered a long-term optimisation agreement with Axpo Group, and obtained USD 71.56 million in project financing from Siemens Financial Services and Erste Group. R.Power describes the combination of these three arrangements as having "set the standard for commercialisation and financing" for its storage pipeline.
Marcin Pajewski, Board Member and Chief Technical Officer at R.Power, said the project is now entering a different stage of development. "Having set the standard for commercialisation and financing, the project is now setting the standard for highly efficient construction and delivery," he said.
With equipment deployment finished on site, attention at Jedwabno turns to the next scheduled step: the planned grid connection in December 2026. The company identified this as the project's next milestone following the completion of on-site installation work. Industry observers have flagged that date as a meaningful test.
For R.Power, delivery at Jedwabno carries weight beyond the single site. As the flagship of a European portfolio that the company puts at nearly a gigawatt of battery capacity in operation or under construction, the project's progress toward its 2026 connection date will be watched as a reference point for the rest of the pipeline.
