InoBat and Analog Devices Agree to Jointly Build i-Power+ Storage Platform in Slovakia-Ireland Partnership

The European battery maker InoBat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Analog Devices, Inc., to jointly develop an intelligent battery energy storage system aimed at meeting the electricity demands of AI data centers and hyperscale computing.

The agreement, announced on 16 October 2026, centers on a platform known as i-Power+, which the two companies intend to position for AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, and utility-scale commercial and industrial applications.

Collaboration for Advanced Battery Energy Storage Solutions

Under the MOU, InoBat contributes its battery chemistry and battery energy storage system technology, while Analog Devices brings wireless battery management capabilities along with edge and cloud artificial intelligence expertise.

The pairing is intended to produce a storage platform whose intelligence extends beyond simple energy delivery, responding to what both companies describe as a step change in the scale and reliability that grids and storage systems must now provide.

Limerick to Host Early Validation Work

The first concrete stage of the collaboration is a prototyping pilot beginning in October 2026, built around an LFP-based battery container. The pilot will be hosted at ADI Catalyst, Analog Devices' innovation accelerator in Limerick, Ireland, a facility where customers, business partners, and suppliers collaborate with ADI specialists to develop, test, and pilot solutions at speed.

During this phase, InoBat and Analog Devices plan to define the system architecture for i-Power+, choose co-development partners and key suppliers, and deliver a prototype of an intelligent LFP battery energy storage platform. Potential customers will be engaged throughout to validate performance and to gain early access to a minimum viable product, giving the companies direct market feedback while the design is still taking shape.

Wireless Management and Diagnostics at the Core

The prototype is expected to incorporate a wireless battery management system that removes the need for cell-to-Battery Management Unit wiring, a design choice that reduces cabling within the storage container. Alongside the wireless architecture, the platform will feature diagnostics based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and anomaly-detection algorithms.

According to the companies, these capabilities are intended to extend battery cycle life and to improve the accuracy of state-of-health and state-of-charge measurements. The collaboration also looks beyond lithium iron phosphate chemistry.

A stated further goal is to apply the same intelligent architecture to sodium-ion battery energy storage technology. In that application, the system would provide cell-level voltage, temperature and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy resolution, together with advanced diagnostics capable of detecting degradation specific to sodium-ion cells.

Executives Frame the Partnership Around Grid Pressure

Marián Boček, Chief Executive Officer of InoBat, said that AI data centers and hyperscale computing are redefining what the grid and energy storage need to deliver, in terms of speed, intelligence and reliability at a scale not seen before. He described combining InoBat's battery technology with ADI's intelligence and edge/cloud AI capabilities as a natural step toward building the power platform the industry needs and expressed pleasure at taking this first step together with ADI.

Martin Cotter, Chief Business Units Officer and President of ADI, EMEA, said that as AI reshapes global energy demand, intelligent battery storage will be critical to delivering power safely, efficiently, and reliably. He added that by working with InoBat, ADI is bringing predictive intelligence closer to the edge to help accelerate the next generation of energy infrastructure.

InoBat's Position in the European Battery Landscape

InoBat is a European battery manufacturer focused on high-performance and sustainable energy storage solutions. The company operates a portfolio of pilot and industrial-scale facilities and supports the development and production of customized battery cells for automotive, aviation, and industrial applications.

Its site in Voderady, Slovakia, houses R&D capabilities, a pilot production line that supports product development, cell manufacturing and testing activities, and the development of systems for battery energy storage. Through its BESSMONT product line, InoBat designs, manufactures, and deploys utility-scale battery energy storage systems for industrial and utility customers.

The company has positioned this line to serve rising power demand from data centers and AI infrastructure, which is the same market the i-Power+ platform targets. InoBat is an IPCEI awardee, and its strategic shareholders include Rio Tinto, Amara Raja, Gotion High-Tech/Volkswagen Group, Slovak Investment Holding (SZRB Group), Across Finance, and IPM Group.

Cautious Language on Future Delivery

Both companies have framed the announcement with standard caution regarding outcomes.

The release contains forward-looking statements covering the parties' potential future collaboration, product development, industrialization plans, timing, and market expectations relating to i-Power+. InoBat and Analog Devices note that these statements reflect current expectations and assumptions and involve known and unknown risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from those expressed or implied.

The forward-looking statements speak only as of the date of the release, and neither company undertakes any obligation to update them except as required by law. Until the prototyping pilot at ADI Catalyst produces results, the scope of the collaboration remains defined by the memorandum rather than by binding commercial commitments.

For now, the agreement establishes a working framework: an LFP container prototype at Limerick, customer validation of an early product, and a longer-term ambition to extend the same intelligent architecture to sodium-ion storage. Whether i-Power+ progresses from memorandum to deployed platform will depend on the pilot phase that begins this month.
